Community Foods is committed to fair working conditions, the environment and quality of its foods.
Whilst many of these commitments are embedded in the culture of the business, it is important that we hold ourselves to account and that the values of the business continue to be handed down to all who join us and with whom we conduct business.
The issues relating to 'fair', 'sustainable' and 'ecological' are complex, subject to interpretation and constantly evolving as ideas, knowledge, Laws and technologies change. We need to constantly assess our own performance to ensure that we operate in a manner that is fitting. We want to operate in the best manner that we can and to be open to inspection and review.
To this end we have a published set of policy documents you can review here that cover key areas of our business. Documents are available for you to view or download in Adobe PDF format (tip: to download rather than view online, right-click on a link and choose "Save target as..." from the pop-up menu). If you don't have the free Adobe Acrobat reader you can download it from the Adobe website. Alternatively please contact us and we will be happy to send you a plain text version via email.
In addition, Community Foods is a member of the May Day Network. The May Day Network requires us to operate a continual plan of review and reporting to ensure progress on our journey of sustainability and good business practice.
